A one-bowl chocolate cake with chocolate icing - who can resist? This chocolate cake is easy enough for weeknight entertaining but delivers on decadence for special occasions.

3 oz. Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate
6 Tbsp. butter or margarine
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1-1/4 cups flour, divided
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 cup water

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Microwave chocolate and butter in large microwaveable bowl on MEDIUM 2 minutes or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted.
Step 2
Add sugar; beat with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in vanilla. Add 1/4 cup of the flour and the baking soda; beat until well blended. Add remaining 1 cup flour alternately with water, beating well after each addition. Pour evenly into greased and floured 9-inch round cake pan.
Step 3
Bake 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack. Garnish with Chocolate Glaze (see Tip below) and seasonal fresh fruit just before serving, if desired.

How to Make Chocolate Glaze
Microwave 3 oz. Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate, 2 Tbsp. whipping cream and 1 Tbsp. butter in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 to 2 minutes or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is well blended.
Only one bowl needed to make this cake. No need to frost this cake, looks elegant and very simple by just drizzling with chocolate glaze and topping with fresh fruit.
Visual Aha - show a slice of cake on a plate with chocolate sauce, sliced strawberries and a dollop of Cool Whip.
