These poached pears are the perfect dessert to highlight fresh fall fruit. Served with a decadent chocolate sauce, these poached pears are ideal for entertaining.

2/3 cup fresh orange juice

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

6 whole ripe Bartlette pears, peeled

4 oz. Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate, chopped

How do I make it ?

Step 1
MIX first 5 ingredients in a large shallow pan, heat to dissolve sugar.
Step 2
PLACE pears in pan, simmer, covered, over low heat 15 to 20 minutes or until tender, turning several times.
Step 3
REMOVE pears from pan. Bring remaining liquid to a boil over high heat and continue boiling until syrupy.
Step 4
MICROWAVE chocolate, cream and butter on medium for 2 minutes, stir until completely melted.
Step 5
TO serve stand pears in individual serving dishes, spoon orange sauce evenly over pears. Glaze with warm chocolate sauce over pears.
